Welcome everyone!

We still have 18 days to go before the event kicks off, so there's plenty of time left to prepare. (Myself, I'm playing Texas Hold'em. smile.gif)

In the mean time, I am trying to get as many new participants as possible, but more about that here.

Forum activity is still a little slow, but no doubt that will change the closer we get to the event. If you want to talk about anything, just create a new topic in the Talk About It forum.

Have fun preparing!

Only two weeks left before we begin!

We're getting closer and closer to the start of the first Screenwriting Fortnight... I hope none of you is thinking of chickening out yet. wink.gif

So far, 26 participants have signed up, which is great. Let's see if we can convince more people to join us in the next two weeks. The more, the merrier!

Personally, I couldn't wait to get started, so I'm already doing a private fortnight now (after all, the only way to get better at this is to write, write, write!) and trust me, 10 pages a day (which is about 2.000 words) isn't so bad. smile.gif

The clock is ticking! Only one week before we start...

I hope no one has changed their minds yet about doing this. wink.gif

The fortnight is not just about cranking out ten pages a day, but it's also about hanging out with fellow writers on these forums.

The way I see it, is that by signing up to this event we all made somewhat of a promise to finish our screenplays. Not just to ourselves, but to all the other participants as well. We're all in this together. So, the main purpose of the forums is to urge each other on in times of writing trouble. We are the AA of screenwriters. wink.gif

So let's chat!

Only one day left before the kick off!

Actually, only about 12 hours if you're in Europe and even less in Australia and thereabouts -- if you want to start at midnight, that is. (I won't. wink.gif)

Come tomorrow I want to see these progress bars become greener and greener. That 0 page count has to disappear!

See you tomorrow, folks.

Ready, set, go!

It's a few minutes after midnight here in Europe, which means it's Februari 4th and the start of the first Screenwriting Fortnight. We have officially begun!

Of course, if you don't live in Europe you've either already started or you'll still have to wait a few hours, but lets not fret on such details. It doesn't really matter when you start, as long as you finish on time...

If you stick to the schedule of 10 pages a day and take a day off after the first week or so, then you'll end up with a 120-page draft in no time.

First I am going to get some sleep and then get out of bed early to write my first 10 pages!

Good luck everyone!

It's Saturday again, which means that the first week is already over. Only seven more days left to go. Eek!

I'm at page 60, which is about halfway in the script. Some people are further ahead, others have fallen a little behind. But in seven days, anything is possible...

So if you're lagging, now is the time to put in a little more effort. Just imagine: next Saturday you'll have a completed screenplay in your hands. wink.gif

Enjoy the writing in this last week of the fortnight!

Wednesday, Thursday, Friday... only 3 more days to go!

I wrapped up my script at 84 pages, so I didn't quite make the full 120, but the story ends where the story ends. wink.gif

If you're not finished yet, then you still have a couple of days. Use them well!

It's midnight here, so that means the first Screenwriting Fortnight is officially over! If it's not midnight yet where you're at, you still have a few hours left. wink.gif

I'd like to thank everyone for participating. I hope you found it useful and that you're a bit closer to seeing your name up on the big screen. wink.gif As far as I'm concerned, the first fortnight was a success.

So... we're going to do it again. The plan is to do this every 4 months, so that's three times a year. The next Screenwriting Fortnight will be held from Saturday, June 3rd until Friday, June 17th, 2006.

Hope to see you again then!

By the way, these forums will remain open in the meantime, so we can all keep in touch here.
